Recommendation on Proposed Affiliation &
Notice of Special Membership MeetingThe Chamber of Southern Saratoga County informed our membership last spring that our board and the Capital Region Chamber board had formed a Task Force to explore potential affiliation. After conducting a membership survey, focus group and a comprehensive due diligence review, we are pleased to report that both Boards have concluded that it would be in the best interest of each Chamber, its members, and the communities that we serve for the Chambers to affiliate.
Through integration, the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County would become an affiliate Chamber and continue to present locally-focused programs and provide issue advocacy at the local level. The Capital Region Chamber would serve regional business interests and provide broad-based member services. Members would have access to more resources and services.
Learn more about proposed affiliation by reviewing a list of questions and answers and/or attend an upcoming information session on September 24 at 9 am or October 2 at 3:30 pm. In addition, to learn more about the Capital Region Chamber, visit www.capitalregionchamber.com.
Our Board recommends this new organizational structure to our membership for consideration. As a Member of Record of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County, you or your authorized representative are encouraged to vote either via proxy or in person at a special membership meeting to be convened for purposes of authorization of the affiliation and other matters pertinent to the integration of the Chamber. The Special Membership Meeting, to be followed by a Business After Hours, will be held on October 10, 2019 at 5:15 PM at Bryant & Stratton College, 2452 Route 9, 2nd Floor, Malta, NY 12020.
The affiliation will enhance member value and organizational impact.
