This class will introduce you to the basic positions of the feet, arm, head and torso and how they are arranged to create specific poses within classical ballet. Learn to memorize shapes, steps and movement sequences through barre, center and traveling exercises. An in-depth inquiry of musical tempo and style will be applied to the study of adagio (slow-moving), allegro (quick-moving) and grand allegro (large-moving) work. This class is for the beginning student interested in learning ballet in an enjoyable, non-judgmental studio setting.
Students must wear ballet slippers with a leotard and tights or yoga pants and top.
